Matt & Kim

Ever wake up in the morning and feel like the sun is smiling back at you? You pour yourself a bowl of Lucky Charms marshmallows, only marshmallows and then go outside for a walk that turns into you skipping and high fiving everybody on your path? Matt & Kim are that feel good band, where you can't help but just be happy and scream their catchy lyrics. Synth-and drums dance.

Brooklyn born and raised the duo, Kim who smiles aways and jumps from her drumset and Matt who belches and hits the piano keys met while in school. But believe it or not, when they first met they didn't even know how to play those instruments. They practically performed every venue in New York, burning CD's from their mini van, promoting themselves. Through their unique start-up they developed their own image.

That image is they are not the flashy muscicans, instead they just are musicians. Watch any live performance and music video of theirs and their energy smiles through the screens. From touring with Passion Pit, billed on 2013's Mad Decent Block Party, Lollapalooza, and Austrailia they seek to just develop themselves and their own following, which is pretty large now for an indie band. From Kim walking on their crowd at Lollapalooza to Matt dancing and standing while playing the piano these are the atmospheric expectations all fans of theirs has.

Nothing best describes the band best than what Matt stated in an interview,

Matt explains. “Kim and I are generally just excited to play; I mean I cannot believe that I can make a living off playing music, which is what I get to do now; it’s just so incredible,” he continues. “We’re excited just to be able to play and we show it, as dorky as that can look.”

Enough reading, more listening, I present to you the feel good song of the 21st century, Daylight. (also check out "Yeah, Yeah" and the Flosstradamus remix)
